How will MidWest BEST communities benefit?

Each MidWest BEST community has the potential to benefit in a variety of ways from participation in this initiative.
For example:

Youth workers will enhance their ability to put youth development principles and practices into their work with young people and have the opportunity to advance their own professional development through opportunities such as training, education, and networking.

Youth-serving organizations benefit from access to well-trained youth workers who help ensure high quality youth programs.

Young people will be the ultimate beneficiaries within the community because the initiative expands the capacity of individuals and organizations to promote the development of young people by creating positive learning experiences, helping them gain decision-making and problem-solving skills, and providing opportunities to contribute to family, community, and school.

MidWest BEST communities will be linked to each other and other national youth worker professional development initiatives to help them increase their capacity to learn from each other, problem-solve, and access other resources. NTI and YouthNet will invite selected representatives from MidWest BEST communities to participate in national meetings on youth worker professional development, national research initiatives, and the development of new tools and products.
